We will let Alexis take it from here. One year after her wish was granted, she wrote this powerful letter of gratitude to BMS:
Before my wish, I lacked confidence – I was afraid to order in a restaurant or even talk to people I didn’t know. But now, I am confident. During my wish, I learned to manage myself, my schedule and really be independent. It opened my eyes to travel and all that is out there yet to be explored.
My wish also helped me narrow down my focus in medicine. And, whenever I feel like, “Oh, I don’t think I’m meant for medicine; it’s such a long road,” I remind myself, “Remember your wish; you really wanted to do this.” It’s a constant motivator to keep me on the path that I chose for myself. I feel more focused on school work, because I really want to go into medicine.
Because of you, BMS, I was able to do what I really wanted to do. Thank you for that opportunity!
